This striking travel poster by Martin Peikert captures the exhilaration of winter sports and alpine travel in St. Moritz, Switzerland. The composition features a bright blue funicular train making its way up the snow-covered slopes of Piz Nair, while a red and white cable car, adorned with the sun emblem of St. Moritz, ascends against the deep blue sky. St. Moritz has long been synonymous with luxury winter tourism, hosting the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948 and attracting elite visitors from around the world. The Piz Nair cable car, first opened in the 1950s, provided access to some of the most scenic and challenging skiing in the region.
Martin Peikert (1901–1975) was one of Switzerland’s most influential poster artists, known for his vibrant, streamlined compositions promoting tourism and leisure. His work often incorporated bold colours, dynamic perspectives, and stylized figures, making him a key figure in Swiss graphic design.

Natural Pine Frames
Our wooden poster frames are made from durable natural pine wood and come ready to hang. The frames measure 23mm thick by 12mm wide and feature art-quality, shatterproof plexiglass to ensure safe shipping (no glass). Remember to peel off the protective film before you hang!
