The 1991-1992 ski season marked a significant period in Winter Park Resort's development, as it had recently celebrated its 50th anniversary in the 1989-1990 season and was entering a new era of expansion. This particular season saw important infrastructure improvements, including the installation of the high-speed Zephyr detachable quad chairlift by Poma, which replaced the previous Yan triple chair. This enhancement significantly improved skier access to the mountain and modernised the resort experience. The inclusion of the horse-drawn sleigh in the poster reflects a beloved winter tradition in the Winter Park area, where visitors could enjoy sleigh rides through snow-covered trails, followed by warming up with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows around a campfire.
Linda Roberts, the artist behind this captivating image, is an internationally renowned watercolour artist whose work has been celebrated for its realistic yet atmospheric portrayal of landscapes. A graduate of the University of Maryland with a degree in commercial art, Roberts worked as an illustrator and graphic designer before dedicating herself full-time to painting. She became particularly known for her series of ski resort posters depicting Colorado's iconic mountain destinations, creating distinctive watercolour images for Winter Park, Vail, Aspen, and other resorts throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Our restoration process is detailed and precise but, because this artwork was never created digitally and no original digital file exists, some slight imperfections may remain when viewed up close, including some slightly blurred edges.
